The ‘Sky Will Always Be There For You’ EP takes the listener on an exciting journey from London to rural Korea and Brighton. The Loudspeaker Ensemble is a unique London based experimental instrumental/electronic project featuring the talents of producer/arranger Shawn Bak and singer Jinsun Kim, who hails from South Korea with additional instrumentation from Mark Jesson (cello), Alex Eberhard & James Wheeler (drums) plus Nigel Rippon (vibes).

The six songs on this EP were co written and arranged by Shawn and Jinsun with additional instrumentation from Mark Jesson.

Shawn formed The Loudspeaker Ensemble as a vehicle to collaborate with different singers and musicians and as a reaction against bland over produced pop music. He considers Jinsun’s distinctive voice to be reminiscent of the  bleaker sound of John Cale and Nico. Shawn and Jinsun’s love of electronic music such as the underground tape music from Japan from musicians such as Ken Takehisa, inspired Shawn to create a sonic collaboration fusing electronic and classical music, abstract recordings and composition.

The focus behind The Loudspeaker Ensemble EP was to develop a set of songs experimenting with different compositional ideas that could be uncategorised, yet available potentially in the record collection of any music lover. Although somewhat esoteric, these six sounds represent the direction of the band right now. They experiment with different compositional ideas, and were recorded with session musicians to get the right sound for the release.
